Mirzaganj's best-known landmark is the Surya Mandir, popularly called the Lotus Temple — built in the middle of a lake, its structure shaped like a blooming lotus flower. It's one of the most photographed sites in this part of Giridih district.
Inside the main sanctum sits an idol of Lord Surya, the Sun God, riding a chariot drawn by seven horses — the temple's namesake deity and the reason for its radiant, sunlit design.
The temple's architecture draws inspiration from the celebrated 13th-century Sun Temple at Konark, Odisha — one of India's most iconic pieces of temple architecture.
Beyond the central Surya idol, the temple premises are also home to shrines of Lakshmi Narayan, Ram-Sita, Hanuman, Shiva-Parvati, Vedmata Gayatri and Radha-Krishna.
